On Wednesday officers with the Portland Police Department executed a search warrant at 111 Nikita Drive concerning recent vehicle burglaries in the Portland area over the past several weeks where multiple firearms and other property had been reported stolen. 

The Sumner County Sheriff’s Office assisted the PPD during the investigation.  During the execution of the search warrant the following was located:

*44.5 Alprazolam 2mg

*7.25 ounces of Marijuana

*2 stolen loaded handguns

*1 stolen iPad

*$1,278.00 in U. S. currency

*Digital scales

*Several more items confirmed to be stolen from multiple jurisdictions

So far, the PPD has charged three people.

Mason Layne Hester, 18, was charged with Identity Theft, Burglary, Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card and Forgery.

Gaweer Kuol, 19, was charged with Burglary x 2, Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a Firearm During a Dangerous Drug Felony, Possession of Schedule VI (Marijuana) for Resale ½ ounce to 10 pounds, Possession of Schedule IV (Alprazolam) for Resale and Theft of Property over $1,000.

A 17-year-old male was also charged with Burglary x 4, Theft of Property under $1,000 and Possession of a Firearm while a convicted felon.

These suspects have also been charged by the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office in regards to this case.  Further charges are expected, as well as other co-conspirators that have yet to be charged.  The investigation into this case continues.
