Lebanon 88, Wilson Central 53

GLADEVILLE -- Lebanon's Devilettes turned up the heat in the second half on the way to an 88-53 win at District 9AAA rival Wilson Central Tuesday evening.

Trailing 36-26 at the half, the Lady Wildcats were outscored 18-11 in the third period and fell deeper in the hole to the tune of a 54-37 score.

The Devilettes put the game on ice with a 34-16 fourth quarter run -- finishing with a season-high 88 points.

"In our mind, it was 0-0 coming out of halftime," said LHS coach Cory Barrett. "We've struggled some in the third quarter this year and the girls took that to heart, playing hard and fast.

"I thought we rebounded the ball well and got some high quality shots."

Alissa Mulaski's 19 points (four 3-pointers) led four Lebanon players in double figures.

Aaryn Grace Lester drilled a pair of 3-pointers and finished with 18 while Rebecca Brown powered for 14 points -- including a perfect 6-of-6 at the free throw line. Anne Marie Heidebreicht came off the bench with four 3-pointers for 12 points.

Meioshe Mason and Avery Harris each had five, Terri Reynolds and Addie Porter each had four, Lexie Crowder hit a late three while Madison Jennings and Natalie Danko each scored a bucket.

Limited to just six points in the first half, Sydnee Richetto led Wilson Central with 23 points, including three 3-pointers.

Campbell Strange finished with 12, Nicole Brill had seven and Jakoria Woods had four points. Savannah Kirby had a 3-pointer in the second quarter, Cloe Smith and Alecia Winters each hit a free throw.

With the win, Lebanon moved to 13-4 overall and 3-0 in 9AAA heading into a Friday, Jan. 10 game at Station Camp.

Wilson Central (8-6 . 1-2) will play Gallatin at Jerry Vradenburg Gymnasium Friday.

Friendship Christian 59, MJ Christian 38

LEBANON -- Friendship Christian's Rachel Pippin powered for 24 points to help lead her squad to a 59-38 win over Mt. Juliet Christian Academy Tuesday at the Bay Family Sportsplex.

The Lady Saints used a strong 19-11 second quarter to take a 29-25 lead into intermission, only to see FCS close the game with a 34-19 second half run.

Savannah Craighead and Hannah Alexander each added 12 points for the Lady Commanders. Anna Taylor had six, Brooke Jones four and Kennedy West one.

Sophomore Amelia Lyons paced MJ Christian with 15 points and Felicity Keen had nine.

Bethany Lyons, Megan Blackwell and Abigail Easton had four points apiece while Shinae Johnson added a bucket.

The Lady Saints (5-8 / 0-5) will host Davidson Academy Friday, Jan. 10. Friendship Christian (3-12 / 2-4) is scheduled to play at Nashville Christian School Friday.

Mt. Juliet 50, Portland 35

MT. JULIET -- Mt. Juliet's Lady Bears turned in a smothering defensive effort in Tuesday's 50-35 victory over District 9AAA rival Portland Tuesday at Tommy Martin Gymnasium.

MJHS led 17-7 after one period and 31-21 at half.

Halle Jones connected on 8-of-10 from the field and finished with 21 points and 11 rebounds for Mt. Juliet while Nevaeh Majors had 15 points and seven assists.

Ninth grader Ava Heilman went 3-of-7 from beyound the arc for nine points; Anna Riggs had three points and Dymond Howard two.

Portland was led by junior Lillie Whitehead with nine points, Madison Linville had six and Lexie Williams five.

The Lady Bears moved to 1-2 in the district with a Friday, Jan. 10 home game versus Beech coming up.

Portland is set to visit Hendersonville Friday.
