Bids must be sealed and marked COURTHOUSE SIDEWALKS BID, and received in the Accounting Office by 2:00 pm on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 for bid opening. CHEATHAM COUNTY BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS MEETING AGENDA FOR JULY 27, 2020
The Cheatham County Board of Zoning Appeals will meet on August 24, 2020 at 6:00pm in the General Sessions Courtroom on the 2nd floor of the Cheatham County Court House, Ashland City, TN.
Agenda Items to be heard:
Paul and Deborah Chenoweth requesting a fifteen-foot variance form the required fifty-foot front yard setback in an E1 Zoning District per Cheatham County Zoning Resolution Appendix A, and a variance from section 604.2, 3, A, to place an accessory structure (well house) in the front yard. Property is located at 1070 Skyline Dr., Map 104, Parcel 35, in the 6th Voting District, and is not in a Special Flood Hazard Area. (deferred from BZA meeting July 27, 2020)
Karen Hernandez appealing the decision of the building commissioner for the denial of a building permit on a private street per the Cheatham County Zoning Resolution Section 4.030. Properties are located on Map 24D, Group A, Parcel 8 & Parcel 9, in the 2nd voting district, and are not in a Special Flood Hazard Area.

IMPROVEMENTS FOR REMOVAL OR DEMOLITION
Sealed bids will be received by the State of Tennessee, Department of Transportation, for the removal or demolition of buildings and/or other improvements located on Federal Project No.: STP-49(29), State Project No.: 11008-2226-14 in Cheatham County. Said bids must be received by 4pm on August 25, 2020 and will be opened by the State of Tennessee Right of Way Office on August 26, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. (CDST).
Sealed bids may be mailed or due to recent Covid restrictions, delivered in person by appointment only. For an appointment, please call Steve Hertstein at 925-350-4203. For mailing, please address to the Tennessee Department of Transportation, Right of Way Office, 6601 Centennial Boulevard, Nashville, TN, 37243- 0360 Attention: Steve Hertstein by 4pm on August 25, 2020. The Successful Bidder(s) will be required to remove the improvements on or before November 2, 2020.
The Successful Bidder(s) will be required to post a performance deposit and other documents verifying the coverage of adequate insurance by the close of the 5th working day following notification that such bid is considered acceptable and the “best bid” received. A contract for removal of improvements will be executed at this time.
The State of Tennessee does not warrant or guarantee the condition, quality, movability, or amount of salvage materials or any other matters pertaining to the buildings and/or other improvements.
(1) Any burning by Remover on State of Tennessee property is prohibited and WILL result in loss of performance deposit.
(2) After removal is completed, each tract must be leveled, seeded and strawed as applicable.
(3) Remover is required to submit a 10-day notice of National Emissions Standards for Hazardous
Air Pollutants to the Tennessee Division of Air Pollution Control.
(4) All required Asbestos Removal has been completed. Copies of the reports will be supplied
to the successful bidder.
The successful bidder agrees to hold harmless the State of Tennessee and the Tennessee Department of Transportation from any and all claims, sanctions, fines and penalties of any kind from whatever source.
The buildings are to be removed to ground level and all debris removed from this tract. All concrete slabs must be broken up and removed from the tract unless otherwise approved by the Tennessee Department of Transportation. It is understood that failure to comply with the terms and conditions stated herein will constitute a waiver of any right to any payment for any work done on this removal; and a waiver of any right to any part or materials of or from the buildings or other improvements included in this offer.
The Performance Deposit(s) is(are) required to ensure completion of the Agreement and will be refunded after removal is completed in accordance with requirements outlined in the preceding paragraphs. Payment of the performance bond is to be made by certified or cashiers check at the time the Agreement for Removal is executed. FAILURE BY THE SUCCESSFUL BIDDER(S) TO COMPLETELY REMOVE SAID IMPROVEMENTS TO GROUND LEVEL AND REMOVE ALL DEBRIS RESULTING FROM SAID REMOVAL WITHIN SPECIFIED TIME PERIOD WILL CONSTITUTE FORFEITURE OF THE PERFORMANCE DEPOSIT. NO PAYMENTS WILL BE MADE PRIOR TO COMPLETION OF THE WORK.
The Tennessee Department of Transportation hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority/disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, sex or national origin in consideration for an award.
The successful bidder(s) must comply with the requirements of Public Acts of 2006, Chapter Number 878 of the State of Tennessee addressing the use of illegal immigrants in the performance of any contract to supply goods or services to the State of Tennessee.
Bidders must comply with Tennessee State laws governing licensing of Contractors.
Bidding is not open to State Employees or their agents.
Restrictions apply for employees who received the Voluntary Buyout and contractors employing them. The State of Tennessee, Department of Transportation, reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
