Austin Reese McDougal, age 25 of Chattanooga, formerly of Gallatin, made his final transition from this beautiful world he loved so much, on Thursday, January 14, 2021, with both of his parents at his side.

Austin was born September 26, 1995 in Gallatin. He was the first son and grandchild to his family.

He is survived by parents, Scott McDougal and Gaylea Pilar Sanders McDougal of Gallatin; brothers, Bailey Garrett McDougal of Colorado and Casey Sanders McDougal of Gallatin; grandparents, Mary Sanders, Wayne and Barbara McDougal, all of Gallatin; uncles, Sevren Sanders and Roy McDougal; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends.

Austin loved nature. He was an avid long-distance runner and a chaser of waterfalls. He saw the beauty in every single thing. And he saw love in every person. He has chosen to donate his organs to give life to others. Austin was so many things to so many people but he was probably best known as a truly gifted artist and his work can be found at “Austin McDougal Art” on all social media platforms. He would love to invite you to visit him there.

Funeral Service was Monday, January 18, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home, with our dear friend, Pastor David C. Woodard officiating. Visitation was Monday, January 18, from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. Immediately following the service, he was laid to rest at Crestview Memory Gardens. Pallbearers were: Bailey McDougal, Casey McDougal, Roy McDougal, Sevren Sanders, Brandon R. Maxwell and Allen Satterfield.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, please send memorials to the Gallatin Arts Council, P.O. Box 1522, Gallatin, TN 37066.

Online condolences may be submitted at familyheritagefh.com. Family Heritage Funeral Home has been honored to assist the family.
