Daniel Rodriguez has opened a second Milos Coffee House located in Portland Village next to Xtreme Fitness. He and his wife, Cecilia Garcia, got the idea in late 2019 for the new location and began making plans for the second coffee house in the southern area of town.

When the couple first got the idea for a new location by the gym, it was in mid-December. At that time no one knew a pandemic was coming. When the virus hit, Rodrigues admitted that he and his wife got a little scared and wondered what they were doing opening a second location in the middle of a pandemic. He admitted it was a challenge.

They decided to make some arrangements and just went with, it hoping that it would work out. They opened the second Milos Coffee House on Monday, May 18 just when the State of Tennessee was allowing businesses to reopen abiding by restrictions.

Rodriguez wanted to create a coffee shop that had the feel of a true coffee shop rather than a restaurant. Food items that might be eaten while sipping a cup of coffee are available such as cinnamon rolls and muffins. A few food items like tacos, flat breads, and salads are offered; but the second location does not have the full menu the coffee house on Main Street has.

The hours are Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. and on Saturday from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m.

“Everything is going well. Friday we were at full capacity. We had a good first week, as we continue to get the word out there that we are open,” Rodriquez said.
