The local association for real estate professionals has made a sizeable contribution to Habitat for Humanity of Sumner County.
Sumner REALTORS gave $8,000 this week to support Habitat’s efforts to advance homeownership in Hendersonville, Gallatin and surrounding communities.
“Habitat has long been the charity of choice for our association and we are honored to support it with this gift. Our missions are complementary, and our partnership helps address fair housing, affordable housing, and general homeownership challenges in our community. Of all the causes realtors support with their volunteer time, energy and monetary resources, Habitat is by far the largest benefactor. It is part of our members’ compassionate support for our neighbors in Sumner County,” said CEO Dave Chaney.
Habitat officials have confirmed the association’s donation will be put toward fundraising efforts already underway for Pafford Place - the first neighborhood of Habitat homes in Sumner County. The organization plans to break ground on the site this spring where it plans to build nine homes for deserving families. Habitat for Humanity has built 65 homes in Sumner County in the past 25 years.
