The City of Portland held its annual Visit With Santa on Dec. 10 at Richland Gym.
The gym was decorated for the holiday season with lights, a special stage for Santa, and large Christmas blow ups. There were many activities for the children to do, including stopping by to visit with Santa, decorating cookies, making ornaments, writing letters to Santa, and participating in a coloring contest. A movie theatre was set up in the corner of the gym where children could watch Christmas movies and eat popcorn during the movie.
Dobbs Family Photography made pictures of the children visiting Santa for a small fee. The photographs were available to take home that day. Assistant Parks Director Tammy Groves praised Dobbs Family Photography for making the visit with Santa special.
“It was awesome. The gym was decorated so pretty,” Groves said. “There were humongous blow ups with a giant Santa, Gingerbread Boy, a sleigh with Rudolph, Mickey Mouse, and a Minion holding a big candy cane. It was an event for sure.”
