Two Portland residents have been charged in the beating and robbery of a man that occurred on the night of Oct. 6

A Portland police officer was at the South Broadway Mapco when a man walked up and reported he had been robbed.

The victim was covered in blood and his face and lips were swollen. He told officers that it happened on Strawberry Street and said he could show them the location. When officers responded to the location they found the door of Apartment C, 204 Strawberry St. open. Officers found blood in the parking lot, blood on the steps, porch and inside the apartment.

The victim stated he was walking east on Strawberry Street around 8:25 p.m. when he was approached by three white male suspects. The suspects came from the apartment building into the road and reportedly forced the victim into apartment C. While inside the victim was beaten, robbed at gunpoint and knocked unconscious. When he regained consciousness, he said all the subjects had left the apartment.

Detectives conducted interviews and found evidence to charge suspects in this incident.

Arrested and charged were: Chasity Marie Sanders, 23, of 204 Strawberry St., and Karl G. Bond, 28, also of 204 Strawberry St. They are charged with Kidnapping, Aggravated Assault, and Especially Aggravated Robbery.
