The third annual Sumner County Child Safety Day Celebration was held at Triple Creek on Sept. 23. Hundreds of children and adults attended the event which provided four hours of fun, food and entertainment.

First responders from throughout Sumner County were on hand to help teach children and their parents a variety of safety tips; from the proper use of child vehicle safety seats, to how to select life preservers for water activities. In addition to the safety lessons, visitors were also treated to a variety of fun activities, including bouncy houses, pony rides, face painting, carnival games, photo opportunities with public safety vehicles and the opportunity to win free prizes, including bicycles. The Gallatin Fire Department was also on hand to keep kids cool on the warm day by providing their outdoor bubble splash area.

According to Sumner County Sheriff Sonny Weatherford, "This year's event was the best yet and we are already looking forward to next year's celebration."
